Questions and answers
Two parts. Drone inspections of buildings, which you can book now. And the city drone network we plan to start in 2027.

What do you inspect?
Roofs, facades, heat loss and building sites. A pilot flies a drone around the building and photographs the places that are hard to reach: the roof, the chimney, the gutters, the upper walls. Where it helps, we also take thermal pictures that show where heat escapes.
How does booking work?
Press Book an inspection and tell us the address of the building, your name, phone and email, and when would suit you. We reply within one working day with a price and a time. Sending the request costs nothing and does not commit you to anything.
What does it cost?
We price each building on its own, because a garage roof and an apartment block are different jobs. You get the price in our reply, before you agree to anything.
When do you fly, and what about the weather?
The first inspections are in November 2026. A drone does not fly in rain, strong wind or fog, so we agree the exact time with you and move the flight if the weather turns.
What do I get?
The pictures, thermal pictures where they are useful, and a short note: what needs fixing now, and what can wait.
Where do you fly?
In Estonia. Send us the address and we tell you when we can come.
Is it legal? Are you insured?
Yes. We fly under the EU drone rules for the open category, subcategory A2, and every flight is insured. How we fly
What about the neighbours’ privacy?
We point the camera at the building you ordered, not into the windows or yards next to it. If your building shares a wall or a yard with others, it helps to tell the neighbours before the flight.
The network
Planned, subject to permits. It does not fly yet.
What is the network?
Drones that wait in stations around a town and fly on their own to whatever needs a look: a roof after a storm, a building site every morning, a street after snow. A trained pilot will follow every flight from a control room and can take over at any moment.
What can the network replace?
Two kinds of work. The jobs people book a drone crew for today: roof and facade checks, thermal pictures, building site progress, measuring stockpiles. And the trips someone makes only to go and look: an illegal dump by the road, nets in a closed fishing area, a street after snow, an alarm at night. From 2027 a drone already waiting in town does both, once or on a schedule.
Can the drones measure?
Yes. Every network drone will carry a laser rangefinder that measures distances and heights on the spot. Its overlapping photos also make a 3D model, which gives areas and volumes, for example how much sand or gravel lies in a pile.
What will the drones detect?
Almost anything that shows up in a picture: fires and smoke, people, animals, cars, potholes in the road, hot spots on solar panels, rubbish dumped by the road, nets in the water and heat escaping from buildings. If you need something else found, we can teach the drone to look for it. The thermal camera sees heat, so it works in the dark too. People are looked for only when safety needs it, such as an alarm at night, a building site after closing time or a search for someone missing. The drone sees that someone is there, not who, and it will not recognise faces. People and number plates in the pictures will be blurred.
Which cities?
Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu and Viljandi first. If your town is not on the list, join the waitlist and tell us where you are. It shows us where to go next.
When does it start?
We plan to start in 2027. Every site needs a flight permit from the Estonian Transport Administration first, so the dates depend on the permits.
How do I join the waitlist?
Press Join the waitlist and leave your email and your town. We only use it to tell you when drones start flying where you are. No newsletters.
How will privacy work?
The camera will point down. It will look sideways only at a building someone ordered, never into windows. People and number plates in the pictures will be blurred. Safety and privacy
Can cities use it?
Yes. A city will be able to order the same looks as anyone else: streets after snow, building sites, parks after a storm, flood water. If you work for a city or a public body, write to contact@aerion.ee.
What is a private drone system?
A drone of its own for one big site, such as a port or a plant. Also planned from 2027. Private drone system
