Safety and privacy
How we fly inspections today, and how the network will fly from 2027: what the camera will and will not do, and what happens to the pictures.

Now
Inspections
Flown by a pilot on site, from November 2026.
- A pilot at the buildingThe pilot stands at the building and keeps the drone in sight the whole time.
- EU rules, insuredWe fly under the EU drone rules for the open category, subcategory A2, and every flight is insured.
- The camera stays on your buildingWe photograph the building you ordered, not the windows or yards next to it.
- No flights in bad weatherNo rain, strong wind or fog. We move the flight instead.
From 2027
The network
From 2027 our drones will fly over towns every day, so the rules are stricter than for a drone that flies once. Planned, subject to permits.
In the air
- A permit for every siteFlights will run under a permit from the aviation authority, like any aircraft over a town.
- High above the streetDrones will fly 35 to 60 metres above the ground: above the rooftops, not between buildings.
- A parachute on every droneIf something fails, the parachute opens and the drone comes down slowly.
- A pilot follows every flightFlights will be automatic, and a trained pilot will follow each one from a control room and can take over at any moment.
The camera
- Records only at the jobThe camera will record where the job is. On the way there and back, it records nothing.
- Pointing downOver houses and flats the camera will only look straight down at roofs and streets. It looks sideways only at a building someone ordered, never into windows or onto balconies.
- Zoom only on what was orderedThe zoom will be used on the thing someone asked us to check, nothing else.
- Places we never recordSchool yards, kindergartens and hospital windows.
- Thermal sees surface heat onlyIt shows a warm pipe or a hot joint. It cannot see through walls or windows.
People
- BlurredPeople and number plates in the pictures will be blurred.
- Only when safety needs itThe system will look for people only for an alarm at night, closing time on a building site, or a search.
- Someone, not whoIt will see that a person is there. It will not recognise faces or identify anyone.
The pictures
- Stored in the EUPictures and findings will stay on servers in the European Union.
- Pictures of homes deleted after 7 daysRoutine pictures where homes are in view will not be kept longer than 7 days.
- The city decides for city jobsWhen we fly for a city, the city will decide what is kept and for how long.
